Last night i was visiting my aunt Lorna and hanging out with her kids and all hell seemed to break loose that night with some (more) family issues. After we had gotten home there were two sales girls riding up to the door. I went to take brownies to a friend and when i got back Lorna was still there talking to them, and after what all just happened i was glad because i knew that was just what she needed - to have some friends come over and make her smile. :) I went in and started talking with them too, they were two girls in the 20's selling children's learning books AND they were from a tiny country near Russia called Latvia. They started asking Lorna about her (LDS) mission in D.C. and she told them all about what she did there and why she was there and then began to talk about the Book of Mormon and asked it they would like to read it. We told they how to get one in Latvian if they wanted and handed them an english version. They had to ride their bikes in the dark on a busy road from smithfield to the outer edge of logan, which is a long ways away so we offered them a ride and after a little convincing they accepted. On the drive, one of the young ladies kept asking questions about the LDS Church and Lorna's mission. So being the amazing missionary she is, Lorna answered all they're questions and a little more. They were the cutest girls and so friendly, we made some good friends that night. On the drive back home i was talking to Lorna and we both didn't feel as angry anymore, still mad about the situation that had happened earlier, but more comforted and at peace. She said, "its because when i started talking about the Book of Mormon and the gospel, the spirit came into the room."
After all that i still just kept saying, i can't believe how perfect timing and situational that was for those girls to come over at that exact time, it was perfect timing and just what we both needed. To share the gospel with those two young Latvian girls (who by the way don't have brownies or chocolate chips in their country, thats just not right!) Im writing this more for myself, than anyone else, as a testimony builder. I want to remember the feelings of comfort from the spirit i felt and how there was no way i could deny that my Father in Heaven knew what i needed right then and how to give it to me. I am grateful for the spirit and grateful for my aunt and those girls who helped bring it that night. I hope they read the Book of Mormon and seek out the missionaries in Lotvia.
I am so grateful HF is around to help us all out. HE always knows just what to do. I am also so grateful that you know enough to recognize Him and call on Him when you need to. :) You are such a wonderful young woman, daughter of mine and daughter of God. Love you!
